You don't need a CV to get your next job - Video Conferencing , Video-Resume is the Future. Embrace the new Era, embrace the new Dawn.

Before I get to the point, would like to express how Google responded to a 7 Year old Girl's application for a job and then will to the part where CV's are a thing of yesterday and Video-Resumes are the future.
I would also like to take this opportunity to like to applaud Google CEO Sundar Pichai for taking time out for responding to a seven year's old's application for a job despite his super hectic schedule!
Here's the story - A 7-Year-Old Applies For A Job To Google, CEO Sundar Pichai Writes Back To Her.
Google is known as one of the most desirable employers to work for. So much so, that even a 7-year-old girl could not resist sending an application to the company. The search giant gets thousands of job applications every day and no one expects to get a reply from the CEO. But Sundar Pichai set an example by writing back to the young applicant and motivating her.
A Note to Employers - When you receive Applications for a Job (And we are aware that you are almost buried under tonnes of applications) - TRY 'Connecting' with the person, do not have a mental-block at the basis of a Piece of 'Paper' receieved called 'CV'. The times are changing, there's a lot that a CV DOES NOT & simply CANNOT reveal. The mantra is to try and 'Connect' with the person. Stop looking for "Answers" that are already written in some 'Book' and go by the Rule-Book and marking a Tick-Mark to "Answers matches to what we have in the Rule Book" It's time we changed looking at "CV"s as the only means to gaugaging an individual's potential.

Here's a glimpse of the letetr written and Google's Response

Reasons for not making CV as the Last stop for Hiring:

1. CVs aren’t always accurate

One of the main issues with traditional CVs is that it’s difficult for employers to get a sense of a candidate’s personality. If recruiters are shortlisting candidates based on their CV alone, they might be missing out on someone who is a better cultural fit for the role.

2. Times are changing

There are a number of new ways candidates now apply for jobs – such as video CVs, websites, and on Twitter. Online job applications are also popular – especially among large companies. These often involve online tests, which allow employers to test the skills needed.

3. The future is skills-based

While the CV is no longer the only way to apply for jobs, it is still usually necessary for the first stage of applicants. The majority of job websites request candidates upload a CV and cover letter as standard, and this seems unlikely to change anytime soon.
New technology is also allowing job candidates to display their skills in more creative and engaging ways – but this is usually in addition to a CV.
I personally think CV is waste of time - I don't even know if it was written by a paid service from Naukri and/or other professional Forums who witre CVs for money!
Pondering out aloud, is a piece of paper is the only way to guage an individual and whether he /she can is the right fit into your culture?
Below are two examples of Video-resumes; I definately understood more about the personalities traits of the person and their communication Skills & Style even before meeting them!! I now do not ahve to do a Screening tound to test whether they can 'Speak english' or test their basic communication skills. That reduces mytime in hiring cycle!
Think it's time to move on. Think Video -coneferencing or a Video-Resume. Would'nt that be be a tad more interesting to know a person rather than having to read a lengthy piece of paper. The Future's here, embrace the new dawn.
